There are different character traits that can be detrimental to an interview. Do you go into the interview with the negative vibes of feeling that there’s no point? Maybe you are one who believes in bulldozing the interviewer with your accomplishments and an entitled attitude. Are you a person who brings your personal life into the interview in hopes the interviewer will have pity on your circumstance? Obviously these approaches are not going to be a big sell to land the job.
In other blogs we have focused on the positive but once in a while it helps to see what a bad interview looks like. We have linked four videos posted by Alex Chu. Maybe you won’t necessarily relate to the whole package shown here but can identify with one aspect of the presentation. He has others on You Tube. You can do a search on his name. These may be a little over exaggerated in spots but I’m sure recruiters have seen it all. While watching these, see if you can identify the various areas in which he could improve, it will help you to be able to focus on the positive areas as well.
