While at a recent business conference, I had an opportunity to ask four local employers their opinion of a using the words, “go to person”, “detail-oriented”, and “team worker”. Not a single employer had an issue with using these words as long as the applicant providing background information detailing the duties and responsibilities that caused you to be described in such a way. When applying direct to the employer without a recruiter involved, take the time to detail why you describe yourself with a particular phrase.

There is certainly merit to paying heed of the information recruiters provide concerning best and worse resume words or phrases.
